The prospect of George Hamilton playing the part of country music legend Hank Williams may seem like a drug induced bad dream, but it actually makes for an entertaining and loving film about the life and death of country music's brightest star. Hamilton plays Williams with a naive glee that makes him likable and volatile. The film follows Hank from his time traveling from town to town selling tonics and performing solo songs to his eventual discovery by Fred Rose. While it may not be completely accurate to the actual story of Williams’ life, it makes for a great viewing for any fan of Hank. Featuring many famous Hank WIlliams songs, which are lip-synched by Hamilton and the vocal track is done by Williams's then 15-year-old son Hank Williams Jr.

Also on this disc is an amazing rarity, both episodes of The Kate Smith Evening Hour featuring Hank Williams performing live as well as June Carter and the Carter Family!
