wife Jane Birkin. One of the most intriguing
moments on the disc is a lip synched performance
of songs from Histoire de Melody Nelson,
in which Gainsbourg stands on an empty
stage with a seemingly indifferent stare,
smoking cigarettes when he should be singing.
